Thanks for visiting our site! We are a
group of people who are committed to glorifying God by living in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We'd love to meet you in person, but in the meantime, have fun looking around. Here is some basic information that will help give you an idea of what to expect at Kossuth.
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICES
We have
worship services at 8:00 AM and 10:45 AM each Sunday. You can park
anywhere in the lot behind the church or on the street. Just please be
sure to not block anyone’s driveway, as we want to be good neighbors to those living next to us. Dress tends to be business casual, but there is always a range from ties to jeans.
During the service we worship by singing, praying, and by the
reading and preaching of the Bible. We also give an offering, but as our
visitor you are not expected to give. Giving is just one way in which
we worship. We sometimes partake of the Lord’s Supper during the
worship service. Again, as our visitor you are not expected to
participate unless you have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
During the services there is a nursery and classes for younger kids.
Older kids are welcome to worship along with their parents in the
sanctuary.
SUNDAY SCHOOL HOUR
Our Sunday School hour is 9:30 - 10:30 AM. There are classes for kids, youth, college students, international students, and adults. The adult bible fellowships (our grown-up name for adult Sunday School classes) are generally divided up by age, but
feel free to try out several different classes and find one that meets
your needs. Each class has their own style, but all are focused on
teaching the Bible in a smaller setting than the worship services.
OTHER INFORMATION
Our church doesn't just meet on Sunday mornings. There is prayer
meeting on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 and numerous small group meetings
all throughout the week. Throughout the year there are other various
classes and special events.
While we offer lots of resources to help you grow in your faith, we
also believe that God has given everyone gifts they should use to
serve. We strongly encourage everyone to get involved in a local church
that holds a high view of Jesus Christ and the Scriptures.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We hope to meet you soon in person!
