Kish Shower

Ladies, save the date for lunch after second service on January 29. There will be a bridal shower for Alissa Kish who is marrying Jeremy Rider this spring. Contact Sheryl Hodson if you want more details or would like to help.

Builders Kickoff Lunch

On Sunday, January 22 plan on coming to your J-Term class, second service, and then sticking around for a quick lunch with the Builders. All the food and drinks will be provided. Just show up to catch up with friends you haven't seen in awhile (fellowship), meet some new friends (welcoming), and learn more about what is planned for the next few months. Kids are welcome (we'll keep it short and there will be food!)

This lunch is also a great time for you to invite someone you know that isn't involved with an ABF class to come check out the Builders.

What: Builders Kickoff Lunch
When: Sunday, January 22 after 2nd Service
Where: The Builders classroom (upstairs, follow the smell of food)

Super Bowl Party

Andy and Emily Rummel have invited us to their house again this year to watch the Super Bowl. It's February 5 and kickoff is at 6:20. Plan on attending Family Gathering at church and then heading to the Rummels'. They will provide chili and drinks. Just bring a side or dessert to share.

Builders in 2012 - Part 2 - We Care

A natural outpouring of the fellowship that we as a Builders class are called to have by God is caring for each other. The care we provide to one another is our demonstration of what we teach and believe.

In the Builders class care often occurs in the form of food. It could be taking meals to someone after they have a baby or have been sick. As someone that has received meals from you all before, I will admit that the food itself is nice and very tasty! It really is a relief, more than I expected, to not have to plan and prepare a meal when something big has happened.

But more than the food, I was overwhelmed with the generosity of so many people willing to help us out. Some of those people we had known for years but some we had only met a few times (but have since gone on to know much better).

Sheryl Hodson coordinates the "big" care opportunities for our class. But often much of the care just happens without anyone knowing because as we are all involved in each others lives care doesn't have to be coordinated, it just happens.

Taking on lions

This is a cool 2 minute video about 3 guys taking on 15 lions. But I also really liked Mikey Anderson's observations.
