Sunday Preview
- Builders ABF - We're not meeting! Find an institute class to be a part of this summer. Enjoy the opportunity to learn from a different teacher, sit next to someone new, and study a new topic. The one thing you can't do is coast through this summer and land back in the Builders ABF in August.
- Corporate Worship - PDW and his Bible will be up front again. We're hitting the home stretch of Ephesians.
Skalon Meals
I sent out the email about meals for Tom and Amber earlier in the week. I just checked the care calendar because I was expecting to have to include a reminder asking for a few more people to signup. But I just checked and all the meals are already taken. I repent of my pessimistic attitude and rejoice along with the Skalons and God at how loving and caring you all are as a class. It might seem like a little thing, but it's stuff like this that makes my day. Thanks guys!
And if you went to sign up and all the dates were taken, you just better be faster next time.
1 Corinthians Father's Day Commission
On the first day of each month Tim Challies posts a batch of desktop wallpapers on his blog. They generally have images and words that focus on a passage of scripture or an attribute of God that is relevant for what will happen in that month.
On Wednesday I was checking out the batch for June and I picked the one called "A Father's Day Commission" by Zack Kirby. In it he uses 1 Cor 16:13-14 that we just studied last week.
"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love."
A great couple of verses, but very interesting to think of in the light of the title "A Father's Day Commission".
