Home - John Haller
John Haller came to Purdue University in 2001 where he majored in Computer Graphics Technology. While in college he was active in the Navigators, a Gospel-centered, discipleship and scripture memory-focused Christian organization. Through the Navigators, John began to experience God's call to Gospel-proclaiming and disciple-making ministry.
After graduating from Purdue University in December of 2005, he took a job as a systems administrator and software support specialist at a small software development company in West Lafayette, near Purdue. He now sees how this was part of God's strategic plan to continue to develop and grow his heart for reaching the nations for his glory. "What a set-up to be here at Purdue University," John says. "God is bringing the nations to us – international students by the thousands and many are willing or even eager to read the Bible. For most it is the first time to read the Bible!"
John continued to work with the software company until August of 2010 when he accepted an internship with Kossuth Street Baptist Church. As part of John's internship he is involved with one-on-one Bible studies with international students, assisting with English conversation classes, developing ministry materials and many other administrative tasks. Among the administrative tasks, John produces a weekly Connections newsletter that is aimed at encouraging Kossuth's church body through stories and testimonies of its members.
Another important and fun responsibility of John's is to create and maintain meaningful relationships with international students of all nationalities. “This is the most worthwhile and enjoyable work I can conceive of doing in my short life. Praise God." As part of developing meaningful relationships, John also leads a group of high school students in a weekly Bible study focused on developing their understanding of Gospel truth and their heart for one another and the unsaved. John comments, "It is my great joy that I may serve Christ my King in these ways!"
