On more than one occasion, Jesus expressed his respect for and understanding of children. He taught that unless a person will adopt the humility and lack of self regard that children in some cultures demonstrate, then they cannot become a member of the kingdom of God. Jesus was an advocate for children because God the Father is excited about them as well.
