Jesus accomplished what he came to do. Jesus fulfilled the purpose for which he was sent. Jesus came to compassionately deliver people from their darkness. God's purpose for sending Christ Jesus is seen clearly and noted repeatedly in Luke's writings in terms of delivering people from darkness. In these terms of darkness, light, blindness and seeing, we are able to understand the meaning of Jesus summary of his mission recorded in 19:10 – the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.
