Bad or poor attitudes typically are obvious. Your approach to a challenging task, the way the server or checkout person treated you, the body language of your child as they listen to correction, the quick and harsh response you gave your spouse this morning, the reaction to so and so being late again . . . what is really in our hearts is hard to hide. Our heart attitude is where our relationship with God begins and the level that it is maintained. Thus, the wisdom writer admonishes us to guard our hearts above anything else because it is the main circuit board that connects us to life as God desires us to experience it (Proverbs 4:23).
